There’s an Apple HealthKit and “Health” App Alternative: It’s Better and Been Around for 8 Years

Apple HealthKit and Health App

Apple’s unveiling of their HealthKit platform and accompanying mobile app “Health” at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2014 brought healthcare to the forefront for consumers.

It was confirmation of Apple’s rumored big foray into the health scene, and while it didn’t include the announcement of a “wearable” that many expected, Apple made a wise decision to simplify and consolidate their announced platform via a cloud platform and an app available on their devices capable of running iOS 8 when released in Fall 2014.

With that being said, stated simply: Apple is late to the party.
